freeDa is the Bluetooth® receiver compatible with any music dock, and accompanies Auris' skye, a similar WiFi receiver

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Auris, an innovative audio technology company, focuses on redefining and simplifying how people listen to music. Auris' freeDa accomplishes this by bringing out-of-date speaker and docking systems back to life. freeDa is a Bluetooth®-based music receiver that is compatible with any music dock that has a 30-pin connector or an AUX-IN port.

Though elegant and compact, the freeDa packs a powerful punch. It has been designed to enable users to wirelessly play, listen and control all of their favorite music from an iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android, Windows phone or any Bluetooth®-enabled device through their music dock. In an increasingly Bluetooth®-enabled world, Auris founder and CEO Jay Shah was looking for a solution to bring older audio technology up to date without having to replace it.

"Ever since the idea of the Internet of Things began to circulate, I have been intrigued by the unlimited opportunities there," Shah said. "I immediately began thinking of ways to make speakers more usable within this realm."

freeDa uses Bluetooth® 4.0 for fast device pairing and low power consumption. It remembers up to eight paired devices and has a wireless range of up to 33 feet. The unassuming, 2x2" device fits onto any 30-pin docking station and allows the user to control the music from an app on their phone. This allows users to to play music from their phone via speakers while still having their phone in their hands for other functions.

freeDa retails on Auris' website, www.theauris.com/collections/freeda, for $49.99. One can also buy two devices for a discounted price of $94.98. freeDa is available in Arctic White and Piano Black.
