Large Enterprises Harness the Power of Appirio and the Topcoder Crowdsourcing Community to Develop Enterprise Apps Based on Apple's Swift Programming Language

"GetSwifter" Challenge Series Includes $500,000 in Prizes From Appirio, BMC Software, Booz Allen Hamilton, Brivo Labs, HARMAN, and NTT I3

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/14 -- Appirio, a global cloud consultancy, today announced that BMC Software, Booz Allen Hamilton, Brivo Labs, HARMAN and NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. (NTT I3), have partnered with Appirio and its 660,000 topcoder member community of data scientists, developers and designers to create enterprise iOS and OS X applications based on Apple's new Swift programming language. As part of the "GetSwifter" Challenge Series, these organizations have partnered with the fast-growing topcoder community to help build mobile and enterprise Web applications and designs from the Internet of Things to physical building security to event applications.

Over the course of the challenge series, topcoder members will be competing for $500,000 in prizes, with challenges beginning on September 3, 2014. Appirio believes Swift will have a significant impact on the speed and agility of its community and is aiming to migrate members from other mobile development platforms to Swift.

In addition, the topcoder community has helped innovative organizations like Comcast, IBM, BMC Software and Brivo Labs create mobile applications that push the envelope with enterprise-grade mobile technologies. All GetSwifter enterprise partners will have a unique opportunity to tap into this community -- building next generation apps for iPhones, iPads, and Macs using Apple's new Swift programming language.
