AllSeen Alliance Surpasses 60 Members, Extends Industrial and Enterprise Scope

New Members Are Bosch, a Leading Global Supplier of Automotive Components, Industrial Products and Consumer Goods; Enterprise IoT Company Cloud of Things; Home Automation Company Revolv; and Shaspa, Leading Vendor of Next-Generation, Smart Building Soluti

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/13/14 -- The AllSeen Alliance, the broadest Internet of Everything open source project, today announced that Bosch, Cloud of Things, Revolv and Shaspa have joined the effort to advance the AllJoyn open source project as the common, universal framework for autonomous, intelligent interoperation among a range of everyday objects and devices.

With the addition of these four companies, the AllSeen Alliance now totals 62 members. Alliance members include leading consumer electronics manufacturers, home appliance makers, automotive companies, Internet of Things cloud providers, enterprise technology companies, innovative startups, chipset manufacturers, service providers, retailers and software developers.

The goal of the AllSeen Alliance is to create a common, universal framework based off the AllJoyn open source project that allows devices and applications to discover and interact regardless of manufacturer, vertical or network. Through collaborative development and a growing open source community, the AllSeen Alliance is expanding AllJoyn to overcome the interoperability challenges that impede the Internet of Things' promise of ubiquitously connected experiences.

Cloud of Things provides an IoT platform that enables businesses to develop self-branded Internet of Things solutions quickly and easily. The Cloud of Things platform delivers the complete set of elements that constitute an IoT solution -- SDKs for endpoint devices, an insight-driven big-data cloud backend and an engine that automatically generates source-code for mobile control applications.

The Cloud of Things platform was built from the ground-up to support public-cloud, private-cloud and on-premise deployment models. Thus, in addition to consumer-oriented solutions, the platform enables companies to white-label IoT solutions that were originally built for consumers and use them securely within the enterprise.
