Improve Digital Speeds Up Delivery of Real-Time Advertising Analytics with Infobright Platform

Infobright, the database analytics platform for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that Improve Digital, Europe’s leading independent provider of real-time advertising technology, has selected Infobright’s Enterprise Edition (IEE) to efficiently analyze and deliver large volumes of data within seconds to its premium publisher clients. IEE enables Improve Digital to consolidate numerous amounts of statistical and analytic sources of data coming in from disparate systems into a single source, allowing for more sophisticated queries and complex processing.

Improve Digital is committed to increasing revenue for media owners by automating and improving the monetization of advertising and audience through all public and private sales channels. As a growing company looking to minimize operational IT costs, Improve Digital turned to Infobright to increase the scalability and performance of its existing systems and provide the company with an easy-to-implement platform that is extensible as the core of its analytical data warehouse continues to grow.

“We were constantly dedicating resources and time to optimizing our old systems to handle the massive data volume that our clients need us to deliver in a matter of seconds, which added to unnecessary operational overhead costs. Infobright enables us to run our database at almost double the size of our previous infrastructure, freeing us up to add more value to our clients who want new data dimensions exposed while also allowing us to take on additional client requests,” said Garry Turkington, Improve Digital Chief Technology Officer. “I never worry about volume slowing down our systems anymore with the Infobright solution in place.”

Infobright’s analytic database platform is a scalable solution specifically designed to achieve high performance for large volumes of machine-generated data used in complex ad-hoc analytic environments. In comparison to the other vendors Improve Digital evaluated, Infobright outperformed two leading database appliance vendors on almost all aggregation queries and using much less hardware and with a markedly lower TCO, proving its solution will enable Improve Digital to migrate 50 terabytes into production within IEE. Over the past year, Improve Digital has reduced the time it takes to make data available to its clients by 85 percent; data that was collected in March of this year was equivalent to the data collected for the entire year in 2012.

“Performance and scalability are always vital needs of our clients, even more crucial for smaller companies that do not have the bandwidth to ensure their infrastructures will constantly perform at optimal levels day in and day out,” said Don DeLoach, Infobright CEO and President. “By integrating our platform into their existing tool sets, Improve Digital has overcome the time and financial constraints that were preventing them from providing their clients with richer and more reliable ways to access data.”

The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? Certainly the fog layer of IoT requires special insights about data ontology, security and transactional integrity. But the developmental challenges are the same: People, Process and Platform and how we integrate our thinking to solve complicated problems. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Craig Sproule, CEO of Metavine, demonstrated how to move beyond today's coding paradigm and sh...

What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...
Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...
Contextual Analytics of various threat data provides a deeper understanding of a given threat and enables identification of unknown threat vectors. In his session at @ThingsExpo, David Dufour, Head of Security Architecture, IoT, Webroot, Inc., discussed how through the use of Big Data analytics and deep data correlation across different threat types, it is possible to gain a better understanding of where, how and to what level of danger a malicious actor poses to an organization, and to determ...
