New Remote Control Device, Qblinks, Makes Customizing and Sharing Smartphone Notifications Easy

Bluetooth-Enabled Accessory Allows Users to Remotely Control Various Phone Functions

TAIPEI, TAIWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 07/21/14 -- Qblinks today announces the first smart accessory that allows you to receive notifications to and control your smartphone remotely. Using Low Bluetooth Energy technology connected to the cloud, the smartphone can be connected to multiple Qblinks notification devices that users can take with them or leave at convenient locations, such as the car, home or office. The Qblinks device can also be linked to specific friends or family members' devices to send automatic notifications and messages.

With one click, Qblinks can activate Siri, turn on and change music and snap a photo with the camera, as well as find your phone even when set to silent. Social, call, text and email notifications are all personalized to who and what the user wants to hear from by assigning the color and pattern that blinks for the notification.

"Qblinks is an easy-to-use remote control for the smartphone functions you use every day," said Samson Chen, co-founder of Qblinks. "You can create your own formula for notifications to ensure that you're being alerted to the things you care about most while also streamlining communications you need to share with other people."

Sharing is a key feature that makes communication over Qblinks convenient as devices can be connected to the Qblinks of friends and family. For example, set your Qblinks to notify your significant that you're on your way home when you disconnect from the Qblinks you leave at the office. Qblinks also has the ability to become an ambient temperature sensor that gathers real-time input and shares it with other Qblinks users in the cloud.

Qblinks is available for pre-order for $35. To pre-order Qblinks, visit http://qblinks.com/kickstarter.

IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
