SiTime's 32 kHz Oscillators Recognized by Prestigious EE Times and EDN ACE Awards

SiT15xx MEMS Oscillators Named Finalist in Analog IC Ultimate Products Category

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/11/14 -- SiTime Corporation, an analog semiconductor company, announced that its SiT15xx family of 1 Hz to 32 kHz MEMS oscillators was selected as a finalist in UBM Tech's EE Times and EDN Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards in the category of Analog IC Ultimate Products.

The SiT15xx products are the first MEMS-based oscillators designed for mobile and wearable electronics such as handsets, tablets, activity trackers, smart watches, GPS modules and Internet of Things (IoT). Compared to legacy quartz products, SiTime's SiT15xx solutions are up to 85% smaller, 50% lower power and 15 times more reliable.

"In each of the past three years, a SiTime MEMS timing solution has been named as a finalist by the ACE Awards. We are honored by the industry's recognition of our products, our game-changing MEMS and analog technologies and our creative, hard-working team," said Piyush Sevalia, executive vice president of marketing at SiTime. "The SiT15xx family offers unique benefits to our customers, which enables them to differentiate their products and increase their revenue. Since its introduction in March 2013, the SiT15xx family has won high-volume designs in mobile and wearable electronics by outperforming quartz products in stability, size and reliability. Looking forward, our new products will continue to offer dramatic benefits that will accelerate the electronics industry's usage of MEMS based timing."

"Congratulations and a sincere 'thank you' to all our award finalists for the inspiration you continue to provide to the electronics industry at large each and every day," said Patrick Mannion, VP/Brand Director, UBM Tech, Electronics. "Each year our awards program showcases the unique best of breed products, companies and individuals that have influenced our industry. The 2014 finalists represent the execution of true creativity and progressive technologies that illustrates the influence electronics and embedded design professionals have on today's culture."

Key Specifications of the SiT15xx 32 kHz Oscillator Family
Frequency tolerance at room temperature: 10 PPM, up to 2 times better than quartz
Frequency stability over -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C: 100 PPM, up to 3 times better than quartz
Size: 1.5 x 0.8 mm CSP, 2.0 x 1.2 mm DFN, up to 85% smaller than quartz
Power: Typically 900 nA, for long battery life
Operating Voltage: 1.2V to 3.63V, which supports coin-cells and supercap battery backup
Output frequency: Factory programmable from 1 Hz to 32 kHz, for lower power consumption

About the ACE Awards
The ACE Awards celebrate individuals, companies and products that demonstrate leadership and innovation in the electronics industry. The Ultimate Products of the Year Award -- awarded to the most significant products introduced in the last year -- is determined by large-scale peer review.
