FiLIP Recognized with Awards from GSMA and Connected World Magazine

Filip Technologies™ was named the winner of two prestigious mobile industry awards for its flagship product, FiLIP™, a smart locator with voice for kids. FiLIP was named “Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device” in the connected life category at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards last week at Mobile World Congress 2014. Last month, FiLIP also earned the highest honor, a gold award in the consumer electronics category, at Connected World magazine’s Connected World Awards. The GSMA judges praised FiLIP calling it “a really well designed product fulfilling a clear market need and making a complex solution very simple for the user.”

FiLIP keeps parents and kids connected on any adventure at the push of a button*. The device combines the two most important elements in family mobile offerings, communications and safety, in a small package. FiLIP brings together the benefits of a mobile phone and a location tracker in a fun, colorful, wearable product that puts parents in control via a smartphone app.

The Global Mobile Awards recognize excellence and innovation across the mobile industry, honoring the world’s leading mobile devices, services, apps and technologies. This year’s winners were selected from more than 680 submissions. The field was narrowed to 160 finalists that competed for 38 awards in more than eight categories. The entries were judged by more than 175 independent analysts, journalists, academics and subject matter experts throughout the world. Filip Technologies received the award at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week.

The Connected World Awards honor companies that have successfully leveraged machine-to-machine (M2M) in order to solve a critical pain point within their business with quantifiable results. Filip Technologies, in collaboration with AT&T, Connected Development, LLC., Redpine Signals, and Telit Wireless Solutions, were honored for the development of FiLIP at the Connected World Conference held within the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

“We set out to build a product that would make a real difference to the lives of families, so we are honored that FiLIP is recognized as a leading consumer electronics device that takes a simple approach to solving a complex problem,” said Jonathan Peachey, CEO, Filip Technologies. “The Connected World and GSMA awards are a testament to the years of research and design invested in developing FiLIP, so it is only right that we dedicate these awards to our team and the organizations we collaborated with that helped make this happen.”
